Small Bowl Green With Black and White Sgraffito Band of Leaves

Enjoy using this small bowl for your favorite small side or condiment on the dining table, or treat yourself to a very nice favorite snack bowl! This bowl was thrown on a wheel using a white stoneware clay. Next it was glazed with a black underglaze and then, using the sgraffito technique, the design was carved from the glazed surface while the tumbler was still leather hard. Once the tumbler was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Finally, I applied a clear glaze to the sgraffito areas and then I glazed the rest of the bowl with a colored celadon glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire.

This is a one-of-a kind bowl that is sure to become a favorite. It makes a great gift for any occasion, or as a treat for yourself!

Although this is dishwasher safe, to protect handmade ceramics, it is recommended to handwash to prevent accidental breakage in the dishwasher.
