Bright Pink Cherry Blossom Patterned Ceramic Buttons

These buttons are created by rolling a texture into my clay and then cutting the circle shape. Once they are leather hard, I make the button holes and clean up the edges. They are fired in a bisque kiln at cone 04 and then they are painted with several coats of glaze on the top design and on the sides. Then, I paint several coats of underglaze on the back to make sure they have a nice smooth finish before being fired one more time at cone 6.
While handmade ceramic buttons are durable, I recommend hand washing all handmade items to make sure they are getting the best care for a long life.
