All my handmade items are unique, no two are exactly the same. This piece was thrown on a wheel using a white stoneware clay. When the bowl was leather hard, I went back and carved designs into the bowl. Once it was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Next, I applied 3-5 coats of glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire. I love how no two pieces are exactly the same! During the glaze fire, the layered glazes flow and mix to create a unique surface design on every piece, but it's really nice when there is a carved texture for the glaze to flow into and highlight. I love the light turquoise like color in the details of this bowl.
