Handmade Mushroom Design Snack/Charcuterie Bowl

This piece was thrown on a wheel using a white stoneware clay. Next it was glazed with a black underglaze and then, using the sgraffito technique, the design was carved from the glazed surface while the bowl was still leather hard. Once the bowl was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Finally, I applied a clear glaze to the sgraffito areas and then I glazed the rest of the bowl with a lichen green colored celadon glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire.

This piece can serve as a special snack bowl, condiment bowl, or a bowl for a special dip on your charcuterie board. It can easily serve as a catchall or trinket dish as well. A great gift for any occasion!
