All my handmade items are unique, no two are exactly the same. This trinket dish was hand built by rolling out a slab of white clay, rolling a texture into the clay, and then forming the piece while it was leather hard. The slab of clay is pressed with a form into a thick piece of foam in order to get the shape. This is what is called a press plate. While the plates go together, no two plates are exactly the same. Once it was bone dry I clean the edges and paint them with underglazes and fire them in a bisque fire at cone 04. Then I glaze them with a clear glaze and fire them again at cone 6. This process vitrifies the clay, which makes them strong, and makes the glaze colors vibrant and rich.
