All of my handmade items are unique, no two are exactly the same. This plate was hand built by rolling out a slab of brown clay, rolling a texture into the clay, and then forming the piece while it was leather hard. This is what is called a press plate. While the plates go together, no two plates are exactly the same. Once it was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Next, I applied 3-5 coats of glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire. I love how no two pieces are exactly the same! During the glaze fire, the layered glazes flow and mix to create a unique surface design on every piece.
Although this is dishwasher safe, to protect handmade ceramics, it is recommended to handwash to prevent accidental breakage in the dishwasher.
