All of my handmade items are unique, no two are exactly the same. This piece was thrown on a wheel using a speckled stoneware clay. Once it was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Next, I applied 3-5 coats of glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire. I love how no two pieces are exactly the same! During the glaze fire, the layered glazes flow and mix to create a unique surface design on every piece. The speckled stoneware clay has these wonderful, dark brown specks that can be seen through the glaze in some areas. Such a warm, earthy feel. This cup also has some of the stoneware unglazed at the bottom which adds to the natural feel.
This is a one-of-a kind handmade ceramic piece that is sure to become a favorite. It makes a great gift for any occasion, or as a treat for yourself! It can be used as a small prep bowl, tea cup, or a small pot for a succulent.
Although this is dishwasher safe, to protect handmade ceramics, it is recommended to handwash to prevent accidental breakage in the dishwasher.
