This piece was thrown on a wheel using a speckled stoneware clay. Once it was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Next, I applied 3-5 coats of glaze before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire. I love how no two pieces are exactly the same! During the glaze fire, the layered glazes flow and mix to create a unique surface design on every piece. The speckled stoneware clay has these wonderful, dark brown specks that can be seen through the glaze in some areas.
