Layers of Green Leaves Buttons

These buttons are white stoneware and all made by hand. They are shades of green in color.

They are sold individually and are $4.00 each.

Buttons measure 1 1/2" diameter.



These buttons were made by rolling out the clay and using wooden roller with a carved design to press in the design in the clay. Then, I used a shaped cutter to cut the shape of the buttons. When the buttons are leather hard, I carefully mark where I want the holes. Then, I use a series of 4 different sizes of hand tools with a drill end to make the holes progressively larger as I go. The buttons are kept flat until they are bone dry. Then, they are bisque fired to cone 04. Finally, they are glazed and fired to cone 6.
