A Luna moth is nestled among large leaves and layers of night sky glazes. The yunomi was thrown on the wheel, trimmed, and fired in a bisque fire. Then I used a black underglaze and wax technique to draw the lunar moth and leaves around the outside of the mug. I layered different glazes to build up the colors of the moth and the night sky. The interior is a wasabi green celadon glaze.
This yunomi can be used for tea or it could be used as a wine tumbler. Because it is stoneware, it can be used for anything hot or cold. It holds 11 ounces, with a 2 1/8" foot, it is 3" tall and opens to a 3 7/8" rim.

Beautiful vessel! I plan to use it as a planter. Such a lovely design. I love moths and this one is perfection!
