This 6" tall vase is a white clay that has been thrown as a 4" cylinder that was then opened up to about 5" wide before forming a narrow neck. The vase was then altered on the wheel by flattening the sides of the cylinder and then forming a rectangular mouth to the vase. The mouth of the vase measures 1 1/4" x 7/8".
The vase is decorated with rings of slip around the neck and slip and texture have been added to the sides of the body of the vase. The vase was glazed with shades of brown and lichen green.
