Pink Lace Ceramic Buttons

The Ceramic Lace Button process was followed to create these handmade ceramic buttons in a light shade of pink. Each button is 1 1/8" in diameter.

These lace ceramic buttons were created by imprinting white slabs of clay with lace. The clay was then cut into the shapes, holes were pierced, edges were cleaned and trimmed before left to dry. While still greenware (unfired clay) the buttons were glazed with a pink underglaze. Each button was glazed 3 times before being bisque fired in a kiln. Once the buttons were bisque fired, they were glazed three times with a clear cover coat glaze before going into a final glaze fire in the kiln.
