Deep Fire Brick Red Bowl

Speckled Stoneware Tumbler/Sgraffito

All of my handmade items are unique, no two are exactly the same. This bowl was thrown on a wheel using a speckled stoneware clay. Next it was glazed with a black underglaze and then, using the sgraffito technique, the design was carved from the glazed surface while the bowl was still leather hard. Once the bowl was bone dry, it was then fired in a bisque fire to cone 04. Finally, I applied a deep fire brick glaze to the bowl before it was fired in a cone 6 glaze fire.

This is a one-of-a kind bowl that is sure to become a favorite. It can be use as a small serving bowl or for catching this and that on your kitchen counter. It makes a great gift for any occasion, or as a treat for yourself!

Although this is dishwasher safe, to protect handmade ceramics, it is recommended to handwash to prevent accidental breakage in the dishwasher.
